Prior to his current role, Derek held progressive leadership positions within BluSky, including Vice President of Sales Operations, National Project Director, and regional leadership roles, where he built and scaled teams focused on large-loss execution, client engagement, and operational performance. His career progression reflects a consistent focus on building capability, improving responsiveness, and strengthening BluSky’s position in the large-loss and catastrophic response market.
Earlier in his career, Derek worked in property claims and restoration operations, including roles at Farmers Insurance, where he developed foundational expertise in claims assessment, loss evaluation, and insurance workflows. This experience continues to inform his client-centric approach and his ability to operate effectively at the intersection of carriers, contractors, and end users.
