The 9th annual Chips for Children casino night supporting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greensboro was a huge success on October 22, 2022. With the generous help of our sponsors, donors and guests, we raised $106,500, which goes toward keeping Club programs going strong for club members. Founded in 2014, Chips for Children has raised a lifetime total (so far) of $650,500 for the Club.

There’s no limit to what a community can achieve when they unite in support of a worthy ideal. Stay tuned – plans for 2023 will come before long!

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greensboro 2022The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greensboro is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

The Greensboro Boys and Girls Club gives opportunity for success to a largely underserved youth population. Your support of Chips for Children directly benefits over 600 Greensboro youth through quality mentorship and programming in after school and summer camp programs.

Funds raised from Chips for Children support local programs of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greensboro. BluSky is wholeheartedly committed to their mission.


Boys & Girls Clubs Outcomes

$25,000 provides a summer of learning and success to our Teen Center

  • Includes special events and field trips (academic and recreational)
  • Includes two hot and healthy meals each day
  • Includes incorporation of BGC evidenced programs
  • Includes teen-specific athletics programs (AAU basketball, golf, and dance)

$15,000 provides 10-week basketball program for 50 members

  • Includes 3 sessions/week after club hours practices for season
  • Includes meals for members for weekend games and practices
  • Includes opportunity for members to play in annual Hoops Council Tournament

$10,000 provides one month of academic year programming for an outreach site

  • An outreach site serves approximately 40 members a day
  • Includes additional after-hours programming (athletics and special events)
  • Includes incorporation of BGC evidenced programs (emotional resiliency, project learn, healthy habits)


 $10,000 provides six months of STEM programming

  • Provides a handpicked UNCG doctorate student payment for running separate Teen Center programs and Reynolds Center programs
  • Provides field trips to the UNCG Makers space
  • Provides STEAM exposure to elementary site members across club locations
  • Provides STEAM career exploration opportunities

$5,000 provides Emotional Resiliency program to elementary-based center

  • Provides age-appropriate conversation surrounding coping skills and mental health in pandemic, racial justice, and creating positive change in community
  • Staff members are trained by Boys and Girls Club of America
  • Strong focus on individual mentoring of each club member

$2,500 provides leadership training program for the club’s Teen Center

  • Provides opportunity for youth led service projects and community service
  • Includes opportunity for youth to participate in incentive-based Staff program
  • Youth have opportunity to participate in youth of the year competition

$1,000 provides a child with the summer camp to remember!

  • Each child attending is served two hot and healthy meals each day
  • Includes academic and recreational field trips
  • Includes incorporation of BGC evidenced programs (emotional resiliency, project learn, healthy habits)
  • Each child attending the club participates in evidence-based programs promoting academic success

$500 provides ten weeks of quality after-school programming for a club youth

  • Each child attending the club is served a hot meal and a healthy snack
  • Each child attending the club participates in honed social emotional learning activities
  • Each child attending the club participates in evidence-based programs promoting academic success
